100% Remote - General Ledger Accountant

General Responsibilities:

  • Perform accounting functions necessary to achieve an accurate and timely general ledger period-end close

  • Prepare monthly recurring and ad-hoc journal entries

  • Review and analyze general ledger account and financial statement line item variances

  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts

  • Evaluate a variety of grant funding sources for proper accounting treatment

  • Consult with various internal and external stakeholders to identify process issues and develop solutions related to the period-end

  • Assist with the implementation of Workday ERP

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • Minimum of two years of corporate or public accounting experience is preferred

  • Understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls

  • Intermediate Excel skills required, including pivot tables and v-look ups

  • Knowledge of Smartsheet preferred

  • Experience with Workday ERP preferred

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Ability to think critically and make recommendations
