The Opportunity:

 

The primary focus of the https://wsbdc.org/ is business development education through individual and small group advising.

 

As the Assistant Director of Partner Programs, you will be responsible for providing management and leadership of publicly funded initiatives that serve the mission, vision, and values of the Washington SBDC. You will exemplify excellence to the Network, demonstrate professionalism in all written and verbal communications, and model the guiding principles of the Washington SBDC. As delegated by the State Director, you will:

 

• Start and grow projects by leveraging mutually beneficial partnerships, and/or stakeholders.

 

• Support the State Director by assisting with the managerial and leadership aspects of the Washington SBDC program, including operational aspects of the department and the design.

 

• Deploy and integrate the Washington SBDC strategic initiative.

 

Additionally, you will represent the Washington SBDC to key stakeholders and community partners.

 

You will also be responsible for oversight management of all Partner Program functions within the Washington SBDC including business affairs, outside contracts, long range programmatic planning and programmatic resource services, and oversight of programmatic support of activities. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of operational and administrative contact for external partner programs.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, which has included at least one (1) year of managerial experience. A Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Education and experience can be tailored to fit the specific organizational entity/directorial assignment. Positions may require applicable licensure and/or certification.

 

• Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

 

• Demonstrated computer software skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office programs, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.

 

• Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying laws, rules, policies, and procedures.

 

• Experience with contracts.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Master's degree in a relevant field.

 

• Experience in higher education.

 

• Experience in strategic planning, formulation, design, implementation, and tracking.

 

• Experience creating/auditing administrative procedures and internal controls.
