The Pricing Specialist is part of the Commercial Excellence Deal Desk in charge of ensuring successful responses to business proposals in the Americas. The Pricing Specialist is responsible for developing price, cost and profitability models that are used to generate quotations for customers. The Pricing Specialist manages cost/price deliverables from cross-functional Pursuit Teams including Itron experts in various fields to produce comprehensive quotations for simple and complex deals. This role includes interaction with every part of Itron including Subject Matter Experts (SME), Product Business Units, Legal, and Finance. Duties & Responsibilities: Creation and submission of quotes to Itron customers. These include price responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs). Collaborate with a Pursuit Team made up of personnel from Sales, Product Management, Services, Legal, and other departments. Creation of a Business Management Review for products, services, and systems detailing price, cost, and gross margin. Creation of quotations for customers using CPQ tools, standard templates and, when requested, customer-provided pricing files. Complete and be able to interpret comprehensive quotation price notes ranging from shipping terms, price tiers, and warranty terms. Ensure the application of relevant financial parameters (escalation models, currency exchange rates, warranty, shipping cost, etc.) in context of the commercial deal model. Leading the pricing response to RFPs that are complex and require multiple pricing scenarios. Adapt, refine, and/or develop templates, work structure, and frameworks to continuously improve output efficiency and scale. Contribute to process improvement initiatives. Provide oversight and guidance into the quality and consistency of the end deliverable sent to customers. In addition to pricing responsibilities, assume a coordinating "proposal lead" role to complete less complex and well-defined solutions proposals. Preferred Skills & Experience: Business background with good technical understanding. Four (4) year degree in commercial base education and 5 years' experience in sales and bid management, ideally in the Utility, Energy, Technology, or Defense industry. Experience with in-depth financial modeling as well as strong analytical problem-solving skills, including data handling and programming skills Analytical skills to assess, debug, and improve pricing/costing tools. Ability to communicate well with cross-functional teams to obtain and validate correct inputs. Excellent analytic, interpersonal, communication, time management. and presentation skills. Strong customer orientation, analytical capabilities, proactivity, result-driven mindset. Previous experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Salesforce.
