Pierce College District Media Maintenance Technician in Lakewood, Washington

Duties include performing regular maintenance on media equipment, maintaining media equipment inventory, and keeping records current. This position is also responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining production equipment for event support. The applicant will provide assistance installing new or replacing equipment when needed. Essential Functions:  Event Support 

  • Assist with the set up of media equipment for special events; assist with studio booth operation as needed. 
  • Verify the needs of clients, and ensure all equipment necessary is provided and in working condition.

Maintenance

  • Applicant will maintain a schedule for the maintenance of installed classroom technologies to keep them in operational status. 
  • Under general supervision, independently perform preventive maintenance on media equipment; cleans, repairs, adjustments, and calibrations. 
  • Perform limited maintenance and repairs on computers. Applicant will report any issues found to supervisor.

Installations

  • Under general supervision, independently perform a variety of installation activities on media equipment and systems varying from the routine test, of media equipment to the assembly and installation of audio-visual control systems.

Inventory

  • Applicant will make sure all inventory records are up to date, including supplies, and maintain service manuals and records.

Required Education: 

  • Associates degree in any field of study *OR *equivalent years of experience working in Technical Support, Event Technology, Media Services or Audio -Visual Technology. For an associate's degree, the equivalent work experience is two (2) years. 

*Required Experience:  *

  • The applicant must have thorough knowledge and experience with multi-channel, live audio systems, both analog and digital, and the components used to support live events.
