The Water Resources Program *within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a *Water Resources Statewide Permitting Coordinator (Environmental Specialist 5) position. This position can be located* *in any of our offices listed below:
- Central Region Office (CRO) in Union Gap, WA{rel="nofollow"}.
- Eastern Region Office (ERO) in Spokane, WA{rel="nofollow"}.
- Headquarters Office in* *Lacey, WA.{rel="nofollow"}
- Northwest Region Office (NWRO) *in *Shoreline, WA{rel="nofollow"}.
Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.
* Please Note:* If the final location of this position is determined to be in our Northwest Region Office (NWRO) in Shoreline, WA{rel="nofollow"}, there will be an additional 5% pay increase due to its location in King County. In this instance the salary range will be $4,977 - $8,578 per month.
Make a meaningful impact by advancing policies to effectively manage the state's water resources in this dynamic position! As a member of the Operations and Technical Support team within the Water Resources Program, you will learn to provide expert assistance in the evaluation of laws and the development and drafting of rules, polices, and procedures to support water right permit decision making. Once you reach the Environmental Specialist 5 level, you will be the statewide lead and expert water right permitting specialist, collaborating with staff across the state, as well as local, state, and federal agencies, Tribes, interest groups, and the public to ensure efficient water management throughout Washington.
Note: *This position offers a career path and on-the-job training. This position allows you to progress through the *Environmental Specialist field and achieve the goal class of an Environmental Specialist 5 (ES5). Candidates will be considered at the ES3, ES4, and* ES5* levels, depending on their qualifications. For salary levels for each, please see the qualifications section.

Telework options for this position: *This position will have flexibility of a hybrid schedule, empowering work from home and office, providing less time in traffic and shrinking your carbon footprint.
