WESCO Warehouse Associate - Supply Chain Services in Lacey, Washington
As the Associate - Supply Chain Services, you will be responsible for performing warehouse tasks in order to complete Supply Chain Services projects. You will be responsible for planning resources and material needs, subsequent manufacturing or assembling products specific to customer requirements, keeping track of related inventory, and providing service repairs when necessary.
Shift: Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Transportation: This location is conveniently located near major bus routes, making it easily accessible by public transportation. Please check routes and schedules to ensure shift compatibility.
Responsibilities:
Perform technical warehouse tasks related to assigned project (i.e. – advanced kitting, cabinet builds, rack builds, IP addressing, contractor services, etc.)
Assembles and performs project based subsequent manufacturing according to customer specifications
Takes direction from leadership to understand scope of project and necessary tasks for execution
Monitors inventory related to project
Works closely with and takes project related direction from the internal PIM (Project Implementation Manager) or Project Services team
Communicates via phone/email with vendor for troubleshooting needs
Follows quality control (QC) checklist to ensure all requirements are met before shipping
Creates labels and processes project related shipments
Completes project tasks and pays strong attention to details while meeting deadlines
Utilize math, reading, and basic computer skills to fully complete project
Maintain workstation in an orderly manner, follow housekeeping duties and safety requirements
Load, unload, and move material in a safe manner manually or using a forklift or other approved device
Complete paperwork, documentation, and data input in accordance with established procedures
Qualifications:
High School Degree or Equivalent required
Licenses/Certificates/Designations – Forklift Certification preferred
2 years of warehouse and distribution operations experience
Ability to operate a forklift or have the ability to obtain a forklift certification
Project coordination skills
Ability to follow direction
Ability to work in a team environment
Attention to detail
Basic computer skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills and attention to fine details
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
Experience in assembly and or manufacturing finished goods preferred
Knowledge of electrical, construction or mechanical products preferred
Working Environment: Warehouse – Work is generally performed in a warehouse environment. The noise level is moderately quiet. Generally well ventilated and well lighted. Warehouse employees may be exposed to all kinds of weather and may be required to wear protective clothing. Operates heavy equipment. Strict safety regulations may be required.
Physical Expectations:
Work is physically strenuous and workers are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds.
Work may require excessive bending or stooping.
Employee required to climb ladders.
Employee required to use hand tools.
Employee uses heavy machinery (e.g., forklift, etc.).
