The Water Quality Program *within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a *Sand and Gravel Permit Manager (Hydrogeologist 2) position. This position can be locatedin our *Southwest Region Office inLacey, WA{rel="nofollow"} or *Vancouver Field Office (VFO) in Vancouver, WA{rel="nofollow"}. Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the chosen duty station.

 

In this role, you will be a key member of our environmental team in the General Permits Unit, responsible for overseeing regulatory compliance of Sand and Gravel General Permit holders, including sand and gravel facilities, and wineries. Your work will be crucial in safeguarding surface and groundwater resources across southwest Washington. You will review State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) documents, investigate complaints, review site plans, assess groundwater impact reports and pollution control measures, and conduct inspections to assess compliance with water quality permits and associated laws.
