The Hazardous Waste and Toxics Reduction program* *within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a *IT Project Management - Journey *position.

This position is locatedin our *Headquarters Office in* *Lacey, WA.{rel="nofollow"}

Are you looking for a position where you can use your IT skills to help make a difference in Washington state? As an IT Project Manager, you'll be responsible for transforming project ideas into actionable plans with clear objectives. Your role involves collaborating with clients to define project goals and expected deliverables. Effective communication, budget management, and meeting deadlines, thriving business team to design, develop, and maintain medium- to large-scale information systems to help protect, preserve, and enhance Washington's environment for current and future generations are essential skills for success in this role.     In this role, you would:  

  • Employ expert project management knowledge and leadership to independently lead IT projects. Organize the project team, develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and lead the execution of the plans.
  • Lead the project team in analyzing and translating business requirements into IT system requirements.
  • Lead developers, vendors, and support staff, negotiating practical solutions to meet IT system requirements. 
  • Perform Quality Assurance Functions. 
  • Compile and analyze project metrics, and lessons learned.
  • Propose changes to project management processes and advises other Ecology IT professionals on best practices, including traditional PMI processes, and Agile processes as appropriate. 
  • Lead data organization for the HWTR program

*Program Mission: *The mission of the Hazardous Waste and Toxics Reduction Program (HWTR) is to protect Washington's residents and environment by reducing the use of toxic chemicals, safely managing dangerous waste, preventing new contaminated sites, and cleaning up contamination.  

Tele-work options for this position: *This position will have flexibility of a hybrid schedule, empowering work from home and office, providing less time in traffic and shrinking your carbon footprint.
