Highway Maintenance Worker 2 (In-Training) Region Wide Buttons -- Shared  * Lacey, WA & Shelton, WA -- Olympic Region  $46,920 -- $64,440 Annually  * Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a shared Highway Maintenance Worker 2 (HMW2) to work six-months of the year with the Buttons Crew (Lacey, WA), and six-months with the Maintenance Crew (Shelton, WA). This journey-level position performs a variety of skilled maintenance tasks and is responsible for maintenance and repair of highways and highway structures to ensure the safe and efficient movement of people and commerce. The HMW2 may occasionally lead a crew in the absence of a Highway Maintenance Worker 3. This position primarily works for the Regionwide Maintenance Crew, working in the installation, removal, and maintenance of Raised Pavement Markings (RPM) and durable pavement markings. They will assist in the daily operations of the striping and plastics program, assist in sign maintenance, and may work with the regionwide Work zone traffic control aids in setting up and maintaining a safe work zone for regionwide, statewide, and area crews. This position will work in assisting Area Maintenance sheds and/or Work zone crews in the winter months by maintaining roadways for open travel and performing day-to-day highway maintenance operations.
