The Environmental Assessment Program (EAP) *within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill an *Effectiveness Monitoring Coordinator (Natural Resource Scientist 3) position. This position is locatedin our *Headquarters Office in* *Lacey, WA.{rel="nofollow"} Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.

This position offers the unique opportunity to lead statewide water quality effectiveness monitoring projects that directly impact the health of Washington's aquatic ecosystems. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing studies using biological, habitat, and water quality parameters to measure the effectiveness of Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) implementation plans and other water cleanup activities to inform adaptive management strategies. You will work closely with various teams within EAP to address environmental challenges such as nonpoint pollution, stormwater management, toxics, and climate change adaptation. By collaborating across disciplines, including data management and scientific examination, you will help ensure that our efforts are scientifically sound and aligned with the program's strategic goals. Your contributions will directly support EAP's mission to deliver credible, timely science that informs decisions and promotes the sustainable management of Washington's natural resources.   Agency Mission: *Ecology's mission is to protect, preserve and enhance the environment for current and future generations.  *

*Telework options for this position: *This position will have flexibility of a hybrid schedule, empowering work from home and office, providing less time in traffic and shrinking your carbon footprint. The specific number of days required in-office for team coordination and key project milestones may vary depending on operational needs and agreements between the employee and the supervisor.
