Harbor Wholesale Benefits & Training Coordinator in Lacey, Washington

*General Summary: *The Benefits and Training Coordinator assists team members with benefit education, enrollment and questions, distribution of benefit materials, maintains employee database and files, and ensures compliance with required benefit notices. This position provides excellent customer service to all Harbor team members, while maintaining confidentiality. This position will also assist in the day-to-day questions and enrolment/access matters with the company learning management system (LMS).This is an onsite position at Harbor's corporate office in Lacey, WA

*Hours: 8AM - 5PM Monday - Friday *with some flexibility on each side of these hours.

Compensation range: $23-28 per/hour DOE

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensures accuracy of benefit enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
  • Provides benefit education to all new hires monthly and ensures timely enrollment.
  • Distributes benefits materials and makes sure all platforms of communication are supplied with current information.
  • Assists team members with enrollment in benefits programs, such as health insurance, including life event changes, and retirement plans.
  • Responds to benefits and 401k inquiries from managers and team members on plan provisions, benefit enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
  • Assists with annual open enrollment.
  • Assist with wellness initiative designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs.
  • Ensure distribution of required employee notices including HSA enrollment and dependent audit.
  • Prepare and maintain biweekly employee reports, new-hire reports.
  • Respond to vendor term notification to confirm Cobra eligibility and ensure employees are removed from plan.
  • Complete National Medical Support Notice and enroll dependents as required.
  • Supports employees with password reset and other login issues with the company LMS.
  • Review and maintain weekly course completion report, to ensure employees are completing courses in the required timeframe.
  • Files benefit related documents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: *The Benefits and Training Coordinator should have general knowledge about procedures related to Benefits. Benefits and Training Coordinator *needs to be comfortable in a high volume, fast-paced environment while learning new process and policy for Harbor Foods companies.

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Interpersonal and excellent communication skills with ability to interact with a variety of employees and stakeholders, both verbally and through written materials.
  • A keen eye for detail and ability to discern letters, numbers and data in specialized documents and work product related to benefits coordination, at times in complex situations.
  • Intermediate knowledge of standard computer and office software/MS Office inclusive of Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint proficiency.

Education and Experience:

  • 2-3 years of experience in Human Resources with familiarity with benefits and payroll software systems. Experience with a learning management system is ideal but not required.
  • Associates degree or equivalent in related field is strongly preferred or experience and skills commensurate with the position are also accepted.
  • HS Diploma or Equivalent required.
