The Toxics Cleanup Program{rel="nofollow"} (TCP) within the Department of Ecology (Ecology) is looking to fill an Aquatic Toxicologist (Toxicologist 2) *position. This position is located in our *Southwest Region Office in Lacey, WA.{rel="nofollow"} Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.   As an Aquatic Toxicologist, you will manage and oversee sediment and upland contaminated site cleanup, providing expert-level technical support on benthic and human health protective standards. You'll evaluate research, peer-reviewed publications, and other technical information related to regulatory toxicology, toxicokinetics, and environmental fate and transport to determine potential adverse health and ecological effects of exposure to environmental chemicals at Puget Sound cleanup sites. In your role, you will ensure the proper implementation of state environmental regulations during remedial investigations, feasibility studies, engineering design, implementation of cleanup, and post-construction monitoring. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in workgroups regarding the development and implementation of sediment policy related to cleanup in Washington, as well as participate in and lead training to TCP peers on a broad spectrum of sediment cleanup topics.   The mission of the Toxics Cleanup Program (TCP) is to protect Washington's human health and the environment by preventing and cleaning up pollution and supporting sustainable communities and natural resources for the benefit of future and current generations.
