Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Tax Manager in the public sector, located in Kirkland, Washington. This role involves providing reliable and professional tax services to both individual and business clients, with a strong focus on client management and business development. The Tax Manager will also be expected to take on a leadership role within the team, fostering a supportive environment conducive to professional growth.
Responsibilities
• Oversee and enhance client relationships, proactively seeking opportunities to expand our range of services.
• Actively participate in business development activities and networking to promote growth.
• Maintain regular, efficient and clear communication with clients to ensure their needs are met promptly and professionally.
• Skillfully prepare and review individual, corporate, fiduciary and partnership tax returns.
• Engage in thorough tax planning, projections and research to address specific client situations.
• Conduct technical reviews of federal and state tax returns, research complex tax issues, document findings and resolve any discrepancies.
• Advocate on behalf of clients with state agencies and the IRS, ensuring client interests are effectively represented.
• Dedicate time to the professional development of staff members, providing training and mentorship to foster a knowledgeable and capable team.
• Demonstrate proficiency in tax planning, consulting, compliance and research.
• Efficiently manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
• Display an in-depth understanding of payroll, employment taxes, excise reporting, as well as compilation and review processes.
• Exhibit proven supervisory experience, highlighting the ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
The salary range for this position is $125,000 to $165,000 + bi-annual performance bonus.

Requirements • Demonstrable experience in client management, with excellent communication skills.
• Proven track record in business development within finance or related sectors.
• Proficiency in preparing Individual, Corporate, Fiduciary and Partnership Tax Returns.
• Extensive knowledge and application of tax planning strategies for clients.
• Leadership skills with experience managing a team and fostering a cooperative work environment.
• Strong skills in client communications, including the ability to explain complex tax concepts in understandable terms.
• Experience in public accounting with a focus on tax management.
• Must have a valid professional certification related to tax or finance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions quickly.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the highest degree of professional standards.
• Proficiency in using tax software and other relevant computer applications.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
