This is a weekend shift position. The hours are Fri – Sun 5:30am – 6:00pm. Weekend shift employees work 36 hours and get paid for 40 hours.

Astronics AES is seeking a skilled Electronic Technician to join our dedicated FAA Repair Station Team in Kirkland, WA!

JOB SUMMARY:

The Repair Station Test Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, testing, modifying and overhaul of electronic systems and components, by applying principals and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, engineering mathematics, electronic and electrical testing and physics.

At our Kirkland site we repair power supplies and electronics systems for commercial, military, and business aerospace markets.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform functions associated with all Repair Station operations, including working with engineers in set-up, as well as performing troubleshooting, rework, and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies.

  • Assemble, test and troubleshoot complex assemblies and/or final systems.

  • Use standard test equipment and analyze results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment.

  • Setup of specialized test equipment.

  • Use sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating and test data.

  • Test and repairs are rigorously performed until repairs are complete to established standards.

  • May assist in developing methods and procedures to modify the repair process.

  • May work with engineers in conducting experiments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • Associate degree (AS) in Electronics Technology or related field/ equivalent electronics military schooling and experience required.

*High-power electronics and/or high-power avionics technician experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Total qualifying experience must meet the years, duties, skills and proficiency required to perform the position level standards.

  • Demonstrates familiarity of the job duties (typically 2-4 years of related experience).

Technical Skills:

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Electrical/electronic knowledge

  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic test equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming

Physical Abilities:

  • Manual dexterity

  • Lifting heavy (typically 40 lbs.) items

  • Near vision

  • Color and brightness differentiation - the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to high voltage

  • Exposure to chemicals

  • Exposure to liquid nitrogen (LN2)

  • Moderate noise environment

EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a US Person under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) to be eligible.

  • Per the Code of Federal Regulations (48 CFR § 252.223-7004 - Drug-free work force), this is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug tests.

  • An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a background check and drug test (including cannabis). Applicants who do not successfully pass both the drug test and background check will not be considered for employment.

Hourly range is $26.73 - $40.10. Several job-related and non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience in comparable roles, skill sets, training, education, licensure or certifications, other qualifications, market conditions and business needs influence actual salary offered.
