We are looking for a talented and experienced Product Manager with deep technical skills to help lead our investments in the Query pipeline and processing teams, which form the backbone of Tableau Data platform. This product manager will work closely with the platform engineering teams to make difficult cross-functional trade-offs while ushering new capabilities into production. You’ll be providing value beyond internal stakeholders or other developers: we’re looking for a PM that can balance customer needs, stakeholder needs and developer needs.
Drive the transformations to build and run the query pipeline from desktop/on-prem to cloud, including gathering requirements from internal stakeholders for such transformations.
Drive thought leadership and work with internal customers (such as Tableau Prep, Tableau Catalog, Analytics and more) to ensure their success, manage escalations, requirements analysis and product planning activities.
Prioritize features and deliver functional specifications with corresponding justification.
Work extensively with engineering teams to scope, prioritize and drive feature implementation.
Be the subject matter expert for data and query pipeline stack.
2+ years of product management experience working with technical engineering teams.
Technically Savvy: You have worked on complex technical products in the past and are comfortable with topics like: database design, complex SQL queries, product integration and API design.
Analytical: ability to frame the right questions, evaluate multiple facets of a problem, derive solutions, and simulate possible outcomes.
Effective at prioritizing. You know how to balance many competing priorities from customers and stakeholders and keep priorities in order for smooth operations.
