The Cigna Group Finance Senior Manager - Verity Solutions in Kirkland, Washington

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Financial Analysis Senior Manager will serve as the Controller for Verity Solutions and own all aspects of accounting for the organization. The Financial Analysis Senior Manager will lead a team of accounting and finance professionals, as well as provide support to the CFO. Primary functions include leading general accounting functions (AR, AP, GL), providing financial adjudication services for the company’s customers, and producing monthly financial statements. The position will lead the monthly close processes and ensure accounting practices follow legal guidelines and established generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). In addition, the position will lead the annual audit process with external auditors. The position will interact with leaders from various parts of the company and will also have direct contact with external customers/vendors. The selected candidate will have an opportunity to develop a deep understanding of Verity Solutions’ markets, products, customers, and business environment. The candidate must also have a passion for coaching team members and supporting and enhancing the development of their skillsets and career paths.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage a team of accounting and finance professionals, who are responsible for processing complex financial transactions involving invoicing and cash collections from pharmacy partners followed by cash disbursements to hospital customers

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting operational functions, including, but not limited to: A/R, A/P, collections, reconciliations, payroll, check runs, taxes, and general ledger activities

  • Assist the CFO and upper management (e.g., annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, ad hoc analyses, etc.)

  • Collaborate with Finance and IT departments to maintain financial records and system processes

  • Lead the monthly close processes, including managing journal entries and bank reconciliations

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness

  • Confirm financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses, as well as by analyzing and understanding performance drivers

  • Coordinate with affiliate companies for intercompany transactions and communication

  • Guide other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy and applying observations and recommendations to operational issues

  • Assess current accounting operations, offer recommendations for improvement, and implement new processes

  • Ensure compliance with legal guidelines and established GAAP

  • Coordinate activities of external auditors

  • Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process

  • Evaluate, monitor, improve, and document internal controls

  • Hire, train, develop, and retain skilled staff

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • CPA license preferred, but not required

  • At least 6 years of relevant accounting/finance experience and at least 2 years of supervisory experience

  • Advanced skills on Microsoft Excel, accounting software, and databases

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and evaluate financial results

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Demonstrated high level of ethics and integrity

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization

  • Ability to work collaboratively to resolve complex issues

  • Skilled in time management and ability to prioritize tasks

  • Ability to work and lead others in a virtual environment

  • Knowledge of Pharmaceutical industry preferred

  • Some travel required (<25%)

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 120,400 - 200,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
