PACCAR Electronics Engineeringorganization has an immediate opening foran Electronics Systems Engineer - Product Support to join our team inKirkland, WA. Job Summary PACCAR's Global Electronics department, which serves both Kenworth, Peterbilt, and other global class leading brands, has an opening for an Electronics Systems Engineer - Product Support. This role is responsible for developing processes and managing issues from manufacturing and the field that are integrated with existing PACCAR Electronics Engineering processes to ensure accurate prioritization and timely resolution of defects. Core responsibilities are application software for all systems under PACCAR Electronics' control, primarily VECU (vehicle control units) and digital display. Develop standard reports to track progress and performance of issue resolution. Job Functions / Responsibilities Analyze issues related to electrical and electronic systems and architecture for heavy commercial vehicles. Support the manufacturing and field service teams in prioritizing issues and identifying root cause and corrective action. Develop standard reports to track progress and performance of issue resolution. Review interface documentation to wiring design, software architects, and other design engineering groups. Contribute to development and continuous improvement of procedures and practices to ensure industry-leading, high-quality, reliable electronics systems and architecture. Utilize Engineering and project management processes to maintain defect resolution timing. Support product launches at truck assembly plants as needed and resolve field issues as identified. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers as well as other professionals to ensure the industry-leading quality of the content delivery is met/maintained/exceeded on all releases. Up to 15% travel Qualifications & Skills Required Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree. 7+ Years of design experience in automotive or commercial vehicle electrical systems or industry-related field. Experience in design and application of automotive electronic control modules, switches, driver input devices, software, or HMI elements. Experience with automotive or commercial vehicle networks, such as CAN, SAE J1939 and LIN. Willing to learn and use new engineering processes and techniques and be resourceful in solving complex technical problems. Experience in new product development and new product implementation. Able to work in a team environment across multiple departments and organizations. Familiar with personal computer software including project management tools, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Willingness to grow personally and professionally and be results oriented. Desired Master's degree and PE license. Solid understanding of Six Sigma disciplines and tools preferred. Proficiency using Requirements Management tools and Systems Engineering tools. Experience using MATLAB/Simulink, IBM Rational Rhapsody, IBN Rational DOORS, IBN Rational Team Concert, HP Quality Center. Awareness of heavy-duty commercial truck regulations, especially affecting instrumentation, emissions, safety, and On-Board Diagnostics. Understanding of truck design and application as it impacts electrical/electronic systems, architecture, and software-driven functionality.
