The Engineering project team at Kenworth, based in Kirkland, WA is leading this activity for the whole PACCAR organization. We require a Controls Systems owner (CSO) who has experience and a good understanding of electrified powertrain physics. This person will be responsible for coordinating control system algorithm development, integration, build and test of controls. As we build prototype vehicles, responsibilities will also include field test data analysis, complex system/component level trouble shooting and a hand in complete vehicle testing. The successful candidate will also liaise with International external research and engineering partners to PACCAR inc. Job Functions/Responsibilities: Be the Controls system owner and leader within the Fuel Cell EV truck Engineering team. Coordinate specialist and external groups in the process of control strategy definition and documentation. Champion the full suite of Design for Six Sigma tools. Develop complex control strategies using software in the loop, hardware in the loop, and system testing. Leverage internal product development processes to ensure high quality results, manage progress and report updates. Manage implementation of product changes by tracking project schedule, budget, and functional requirements throughout the entire life of the project. Support prototype build and product launch at vehicle assembly plants. Work closely with multiple PACCAR divisions. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with mechanical engineers, manufacturing engineers and other professionals to ensure a right-first-time heavy duty truck market launch. Manage multiple priorities and goals simultaneously. Travel up to 10%. Qualifications & Skills: Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; P.E. license preferred. Background in control system design, signal processing, PID loops and dynamic system modeling. Understanding of automotive Class 8 communication protocols (J1939, CAN, KWP-2000, UDS). Be able to demonstrate experience with Vector CANalyzer, ATI
