LMR Technical Group, LLC Engineering Technician II (Shell Repair) in Keyport, Washington

LMR provides industrial support services across the Undersea Weapons Department (Code 30), Test and Evaluation Department (Code 20), Undersea Systems & Sustainment Department (Code 40) and Unmanned and Theater Undersea Warfare Systems Department (Code 50), of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division, Keyport (NUWCDIVKPT). Requirements include providing technical support services associated with various industrial operations, depot repair activities, and torpedo intermediate maintenance functions.

 

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Engineer Technician II assembles and disassembles, repairs, cleans, and provides engineering and preventative maintenance to vehicle shells, buoys, and components in support of programs on the NUWCDIVKPT Industrial Support Services (ISS) contract.

Job Description:

  • Performs standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations, follows standard work methods on recurring assignments but receives explicit instructions on unfamiliar assignments. Technical adequacy of routine work is reviewed on completion; non-routine work may be reviewed in progress.
  • Performs typical duties such as following specific instructions, assembles or constructs simple or standard equipment or parts, servicing or repairing simple instruments or equipment.
  • Be ready to cross-train across any engineering technician area in the ISS Contract including but not limited to Torpedo Depot and Torpedo Intermediate Maintenance Activity (IMA) for 3-6 month rotations. Note some rotations will require full body PPE for extended periods of time.  Rotation assignment is at the discretion of the coordinating Task Leads, the Deputy PM, and the PM.
  • Hazard Duty: Some roles may require employee be occupationally exposed to hazardous substances such as Otto Fuel II, lead, chromium, or cadmium. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and training will be provided.   Physical and medical certifications would be required for these roles, paid for by employer.  
  • Cleaning Roles: Some roles may have extended use of PPE and be considered 'dirty' jobs, i.e., requiring extensive cleaning of parts. Cross training is used to provide 3-6 months rotations in and out of these roles.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

     

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. (Eligible to pass Federal security clearance process.)   • A minimum of two (2) years of experience providing industrial operations support.
  • Some manual lifting up to 75 pounds may be required with this position.
  • May be required to complete a fitness-for-duty physical/screening, as required by the government for work in specific shops.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
