Naval Sea Systems Command ASSISTANT in Keyport, Washington

Summary You will serve as a ASSISTANT in the HUMAN RESOURCES DIVISION within the CORPORATE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NG-3 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-7 and GS-8. The NG-2 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-5 and GS-6. Responsibilities You will provide support for HR specialists involved in using HR information systems to deliver HR services to civilian personnel. You will provide technical support in labor/management employee relations, policy and planning, recruitment, staffing and classification, and/or workforce development. You will use various software programs and automated systems to prepare a variety of documents, revise, calculate, and enter/retrieve data. You will produce correspondence, memoranda, directives, and reports. Updates and maintains division website and provides customer support. You will coordinate and support service and performance recognition, arrange pre-employment physicals, and provide support with employee check-in and check-out processing and retention survey management. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications NG-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NG-02 (GS-05/06 equivalent) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector using information systems to perform human resources assistance work in support of a personnel program. Examples of qualifying experience include: reviewing and processing official personnel actions in an automated personnel database; researching employment rules, policies or regulations; screening applications to determine if they meet pre-employment requirements; or providing information and advice on the use of automated human resources processing systems. NG-02: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NG-01 (GS-01-04 equivalent) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting in the use of information systems to perform human resources assistance work in support of a personnel program.
