Blue Origin Windows System Administrator (Enterprise Technology) in Kent, Washington
As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will provide computer support to our engineers and staff, and manage critical information technology infrastructure, for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of IT infrastructure. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.
Troubleshooting computers, servers, virtual machines, and other devices telephonically, in person, and via email. Apply computing diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate and determine root causes, and recommend appropriate solutions.
Installing, configuring, deploying, patching, and removing computer and server hardware, software, and peripherals.
Build/maintain automated system for inventory/ change control/patch management.
Maintain an inventory of all hardware and software.
Document general processes and update FAQs/HOWTOs.
Perform general server room duties such as installing/removing/moving servers and storage arrays from server racks, wiring, and clean up.
Manage and configure Microsoft Exchange Server 2013, network switches, and virtual machines and environments.
Provide support outside of regular business hours (weekends, holidays, etc.) as required.
Serve a required ON CALL rotation, being available after hours via phone for a one week duration.
Travel to our West Texas and/or Florida sites on an as-needed basis.
Document and track projects utilizing Jira and Confluence.
Minimum of a B.S. degree in information systems or computer science.
5+ years experience working in information technology.
5+ years experience as a system administrator in a windows environment.
Experience with Exchange Server 2013, 2016 configuration, migrations and administration.
Experience with Windows central configuration management.
Experience with powershell or equivalent tools to automate processes.
Customer Service-oriented attitude to support and instruct computer users, most of whom have extensive science and engineering backgrounds, and require efficient resolution of complex problems.
Understanding of LAN/WAN networks and routing protocols.
Able to quickly adapt to fast changing priorities and deadlines.
Networking Certification: CCNA or equivalent.
Microsoft Certifications: Exchange Server 2013.
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder).
Able to review all export-controlled technical information.
Project planning and management experience.
Hypervisor Certifications: VMware ; vSphere, vCenter, ESX(i)
Experience with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Project, Visio, Adobe products; Antivirus, VPN, encryption applications, Windows server operating systems.
