Job TitleTruck Driver 1Reports toPlant Superintendent/Trucking LeadJob PurposeTo service our customers in a safe, efficiently and timely manner.Umbrella responsibilities of all employees:Assist and support implementation of EHS initiatives and strategies to reduce riskincluding but not limited to the areas of: OSHA, ergonomics, injury / illness reduction, hazard communication, environmental, emergency preparedness, and general employee safetySupports LIFE areas, Safety Leading Indicators and Global Program ElementsEnsures a clean and safe work environmentAdhering to Plant policies and guidelinesWorking safely and looking out for the safety of those around themFollowing all safety protocolsMaintaining a safe and clean work environment according to plant housekeeping standardsAttending and participating in Plant safety meetings.Managing controllable costs through proper equipment, tool and consumable usageReporting any safety or maintenance concernsKey ResponsibilitiesAttend daily safety-tool box meetings.Complete required routing through the use of an approved Box Van vehicleComplete pre-trip inspection report (or VCR)Follow all Federal, State, and local D.O.T regulationsFollow all posted speed limitsEnsure cell phone(s) are turned on and are operationalObtain daily work schedule, BOL’sCheck in with dispatcher for additional information or routing changes.Ensure timely pickups for scheduled customersEnsure truck is locked when not in usePost trip inspection reports at end of shiftComplete and submit truck logs and any other paperwork at end of shift.Complete daily housekeeping, cleaning and trash removal from cab of truck at the end of every shiftCheck in with dispatcher prior to leaving for the dayComplete safety observations- 2 per week.Other duties as assignedPersonal Protective EquipmentGloves, approved safety glasses, ear plugs, safety vest, steel toed shoes, hard hat.Equipment Operated and MonitoredTruckElectric Pallet JackLift GateRoll DoorTools usedBack up CameraGPS/On Board cameraLoad LocksCell PhoneInformation collected and exchangedCommunicate with receiving on equipment needs.Communicate with dispatcher on route updatesCommunication with dispatch regarding any truck/equipment repair needsCommunicate with dispatch any customer concerns or needsTraining/Registration/License/Certification requirementValid Class B Driver’s LicenseMedically certifiedDrug and Alcohol trainingAir Brakes certificationThe above job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed.
