Veritiv Operating Co Transportation Coordinator> in Kent, Washington

Job Purpose: Our Transportation Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring and coordinating the transportation and distribution of products necessary to meet business needs while maximizing efficiency and minimizing costs. Job Responsibilities: ? Prioritize "waves" of product to be picked to meet priorities of established shipping schedules and work with inventory control as needed to resolve inventory discrepancies. ? Process rapid delivery, courier and will calls on an hourly or as needed basis. ? Ensure orders are grouped and then released in the most efficient manner. ? Responsible for adhering to the rules and guidelines by which product will be picked in the warehouse to fulfill customer orders. ? Analyze the optimal number of trucks/containers needed to transport product shipments based on the required schedule. Re-assign carriers for customer orders as needed. ? Close and dispatch all outbound trailers daily (nightly) prior to end of shift. ? Generate orders and metric reports to warehouse workers; print and reprint labels, check inventory status, input data for shipping status, create shipping manifest, troubleshoot, and correct errors in wave batches. ? Follow mandatory procedures to ensure that work is carried out to the required quality standards and/or to ensure adherence to external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct. ? Adhere to the organization's Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to oneself and others in the workplace. ? Must meet ANSI Z75 standard. ? Perform additional duties as required. Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications: Work hours are 10:30 am to 7 pm, plus overtime as needed Familiarity with a computerized warehouse system preferred. Salary Range: 63K-70K Work Experience: ? 1-3 years of related job experience. ? Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment. ? Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required. ? Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. ? Strong planning and organization skills are required. ? Warehouse experience required preferably working in a distribution environment. Education: ? High School Diploma/GED Preferred Working Conditions: The work environment for this position requires: ? Regularly working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse where exposure to cold, heat, damp or humid conditions may occur. ? Exposure to loud noise. ? Exposure to dust, mechanical hazards, moving objects, and moving vehicles. Physical Requirements: The physical requirements listed below are representative of those needed to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. ? Ability to lift, twist and carry up 50 - 75 pounds, manipulate (push and pull) up to 160 pounds of product with material handling equipment and skids weighing up to 2,000 pounds utilizing pallet jack. ? Walking/Standing - walk throughout the warehouse to complete customer orders. Stand when operating order picker or reach truck equipment and when operating cutter. ? Sitting - sit only when driving sit-down material handling equipment. ? Lifting - lift items weighing a few ounces up to 150 pounds with assistance . ?
