Blue Origin LLC Software Engineer III - Flight Software in Kent, Washington

You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of safety-critical real-time embedded software development.You will be responsible for requirements, design, implementation, integration and testing of various software components and tools critical for the success of New Glenn's mission. You will collaborate with cross-discipline software, hardware and product teams across the avionics organization and supporting other vehicle and ground systems.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Job Description:Development of flight software in compliance with safety critical software development processesAssess system requirements allocated to softwareDevelop software specification including functional, performance, and safety requirementsEstablish software design to accommodate the software specificationWrite the source code and integrate the final software productDevelop software test cases in order to verify the specification and the designDevelop and execute tests procedures in the verification environmentPerform analyses such as test coverage, structural coverage, and performanceFollow software development processes described in software plansLiaise with the system, safety, verification and hardware teamsQualifications:B.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or related discipline.5+ years of software development experience in particular in C, C++ and Python.Experience with real-time operating systems.Working knowledge of embedded software and other systems software components.Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Desired:M.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or related discipline.Good understanding of operating systems and network protocols fundamentals.Experience with safety-critical software development in aerospace, automotive or other industries.ITAR RequirementsTo conform to U.S. Government commercial space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), 8 U.S.C. * 1324b(a)(3), applicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawfully admitted for permanent residence into the U.S. (i.e. current green card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. * 1157-1158.
