Job Title: Quality Assurance/Sanitation - Graveyard Shift

Job Description

This graveyard position is a combination of Quality Assurance (QA) and Sanitation duties. The role involves 20% QA responsibilities, primarily documenting the work of an external company that cleans specific machines, ensuring they follow proper cleaning procedures. The remaining 80% of the role involves sanitation, requiring the disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of various machines on a rotating quarterly schedule. The role demands proficiency in email and computer skills, as well as comfort with using basic hand and power tools, and working in wet and cold environments, often alone.

Responsibilities

• Document the activities of external cleaning crews to ensure compliance with cleaning procedures.

• Follow a document checklist to verify proper mixing and usage of chemical cleaning solutions.

• Disassemble, clean, and reassemble machines in the facility on a rotating quarterly schedule.

• Use basic hand and power tools to perform sanitation tasks.

• Hand scrub equipment as needed.

• Work independently for the majority of the shift in a refrigerated environment.

Essential Skills

• Quality assurance experience in food manufacturing.

• Knowledge of food safety, quality inspection, and quality control.

• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

• Sanitation and cleaning experience.

• Proficiency in minor assembly tasks.

• Good email and computer skills.

• Comfortable working with basic hand and power tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.

• Previous experience in the food industry is preferred.

Work Environment

The facility has a total of 75 employees working across two shifts, focusing on fresh and raw sausage production. The work environment is refrigerated, with temperatures around 45 degrees on the production floor. The graveyard shift involves working alone for most of the time, except during QA documentation with the external crew.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00
