A client of ours at Robert Half is looking for a Network Engineer to work at their Kent, Washington location. This role is within the telecom industry and will require a mixture of remote and on-site work after the initial training period. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative team, focusing on Network Engineering, but also willing to assist with ad-hoc IT duties. They are a smaller company so this person's role will be focusing on Network Engineering, however they will also need to bring a level of willingness to help out with other IT duties or things that come up ad-hoc as well.

Responsibilities:

Oversee and Maintain Network Systems: Regularly manage, monitor, test, and troubleshoot the Center’s network infrastructure, including routers, proxy servers, switches, and WAN accelerators to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Implement and Manage Security Measures: Handle firewalls, endpoint management, and intrusion detection systems to safeguard the network against threats and vulnerabilities.

Develop and Execute Network Solutions: Plan and design network solutions to improve efficiency and capacity, ensuring the infrastructure meets current and future needs.

Plan and Implement Redundancy and Recovery Procedures: Develop and execute procedures for redundancy, system recovery, and business continuity to minimize downtime and ensure data integrity.

Resolve Network Issues: Perform high-level root-cause analysis to troubleshoot and resolve support issues and service interruptions quickly and effectively.

Requirements

Must haves: skilled in (more of a must) vs. knowledge (flexible)

• 4+ years of experience in Network Engineering

• 3+ years of experience with LAN/WAN, VPN, & Routing protocols

• 2+ years of experience with Cloud architecture (Azure) & Disaster Recovery

• 1+ years of experience with Virtualization (VMware/vCenter)

• TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSL, MFA, IPSec, etc.

• Experience with O365

• Cisco house for hardware, looking at moving to Teams instead of phones

• Switching, routing, firewall (Palo Alto firewalls)

Note:

• Will need to get ACCESS certification in the first 30 days (a class they will take set up by VCC)

• WA State Drivers license required

  Nice to haves:

• Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or similar

• CCNP Certification
