The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization's Human Resource department.

This role requires a fast learner with a willingness to take on projects and direction. The HR Assistant will understand basic Human Resources practices, HRIS systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required for this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department.
  • Conducts or assists with new hire onboarding and orientation.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
  • Serve a key role on the Wellness Committee.
  • Prepares invoices and expenses for payment.
  • Schedule travel as required.
  • Assist with HR projects as needed.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

None

Travel:

Travel is estimates at less than 5%. 

Location:

Kent, Washington.  This position will be in office, acting as the face of Human Resources.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to collaborate and work independently.
  • Strong written, grammatical, and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and time-management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS), UKG experience preferred and other similar programs.
  • An interest in Human resources as demonstrated either through prior courses of study or prior jobs.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or relevant education and experience combined.
