Aerotek Fleet Mechanic (Paying $27-$30/hr) in Kent, Washington
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair: o Engines: gas and diesel, as well as turbos, injectors, cooling systems. o Power trains: differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, PTOs, and wheel ends o Electrical: starters, alternators, HVAC, and steering systems o Electronic: ECMs, ECUs, sensors o Brakes: ABS, suspension systems (air and spring) • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections and scheduled services on truck and trailer equipment. • Identify warranty or recall repairs and document as per company protocol. • Uphold Department of Transportation and Department of Ecology safety and environmental standards. • Safely weld, operate hand tools, hydraulic lifts, pneumatic tools, and other power equipment. • Use sound and test instruments and gauges to diagnose malfunctions. • Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized work area. • Maintain and foster team building and communications with all departments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Associate’s Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or high school diploma and two to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Valid Driver’s License; CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements preferred (or willingness to gain CDL and endorsements with company assistance). • Demonstrated proficiency using shop tools and must have own set of hand tools. • Ability to read and interpret written, verbal, and other forms of communication and respond verbally and/or in writing. • Ability to perform basic math calculations, understand units of measurement, and solve moderately complex problems when given general information. • Must possess an understanding of vehicle safety and environmental regulations. • Specific knowledge of petroleum tank trucks, diesel and gas vehicles, and petroleum equipment is preferred. • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Cummins Insite and Detroit Diagnosticlink systems preferred. • Ability to perform the physical demands of the role.
