The Seattle Times Electrical Maintenance Manager in Kent, Washington

The Seattle Times, a Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper, is seeking an *Electrical Maintenance Manager *to join our Print Operations team in Kent, WA. As our Electrical Manager, you will be called on to manage our team of Maintenance Electricians who handle maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all manufacturing equipment and industrial control support systems across our production facility. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily activities of the Electricians. Work directly with these individuals to ensure their professional and technical growth.
  • Provide assistance to Maintenance Electricians as needed to help facilitate the troubleshooting and repair of our production equipment.
  • Develop and assign work schedules.
  • Formulate guidelines, standards, and procedures for the department.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget for the Electrical Department.
  • Coordinate the procurement of parts and services.
  • Ensure that all systems within the responsibility of the electricians are on a timely preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Coordinate the maintenance and upkeep of the technical reference library.

     

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 
    • Previous experience in any manufacturing industry preferred, especially as a Maintenance Electrician, Industrial Electrician, Technician, or equivalent.
    • Journey-level Electrician experience preferred.
    • Experience in troubleshooting and repair of production equipment including working with industrial controls, PLC's, network communications and control panels strongly preferred.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude, with the ability to analyze and quickly resolve problems and consistently meet deadlines is required.
    • The ability to climb, bend, stoop, and carry up to 50 pounds, carry tools and parts up several flights of stairs or ladders and work from personnel lifts.
    • Candidate must have the ability to work with contractors, engineers, and vendors regarding the upgrade and/or installation of electrical equipment.
    • Computer literacy and good verbal/written communication skills needed.
  • Education: HS Diploma or GED required.

     

Compensation: The full salary range for this position is $90,000 to $127,000. We typically pay between $95,000 and $114,600, depending on experience and qualifications.
