The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and managing a team to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual goals in the state. This requires the ability to manage employees and individually contribution to retaining customers. This includes supervision of warehouse and delivery driver team within the defined geography. The Operations Manager must understand the overall business of the clients and their requirements to deliver impactful value propositions of AAF/Flanders products. Is also responsible for creating a culture of a safe working environment, inventory control, and training of operational personnel within the branches. Support improvements in service, inventory management and overall efficiency and productivity. Collaborates with key stakeholders to improved processes that drive growth and profitability expansion. Supports the Operations personnel on developing the necessary talent to build a distinctive, result oriented team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize order flow of all orders including but not limited to will calls, service, deliveries, shipping

  • Communicate daily with Sales, Vendors, Customers and Customer Service to ensure timely deliveries

  • Participate in weekly and monthly Sales and Branch meetings

  • Analyze data for future sales

  • Run open order report in QlikView (QLKV) and review orders and push to close out any orders while working with Customer Service

  • Production planning for custom sizes and manage the cut and cap process

  • Create, enter and adjust Stock Transfer Order (STO) and Purchase Order’s (PO) in SAP

  • Posting goods in SAP

  • Schedule carrier and will call deliveries for shippable orders

  • Set up new vendors for outside buys

  • Pick and pull orders as needed

  • Load and Unload trucks as needed

  • Ship out FedEx and UPS trucks as needed

  • Conduct weekly calls with 3rd party logistics vendor to reduce logistic issues

  • Conduct inventory spot checks, adjust counts accordingly

  • Conduct in-person annual physical inventory at branch location

  • Maintain ample levels of inventory to meet delivery and service expectations of all branch customers, this includes purchasing of product for the branches.

  • Oversee and adjust inventory in a weekly basis.

  • Working closely with Credit Department at Corporate to determine appropriate credit level and resolve any credit issues.

  • Work closely cross-functions. Provide requested branch specific information and provide vital information in a timely manner.

  • Monitor and improvement of processes.

  • Be available outside regular working hours in case of emergencies within the branch as required.

  • Conduct safety meetings, security reports and trainings

  • Conduct annual fire safety inspections

  • Contact Vendors including but not limited to plumbing, air conditioning, lights and garage doors for building maintenance

  • Order cleaning supplies for the cleaning of offices and warehouse

  • Manage employees and handle personnel issues along with time and attendance and assigning trainings in the Learning Management System (LMS)

  • Reconcile expense report

  • Other duties assigned

    Additional Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience

  • Microsoft Office, CRM (salesforce.com), and ERP (SAP, Other)

  • Driver License

  • Minimum 5-10 years Operations experience within the manufacturing, distribution, and/or service industry.

  • Supervisory experience preferred, including that of commercial drivers and service technicians.

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S) from four-year college or university preferred
