Description: An Avionics Test Engineer job in Kent, WA is currently available at Belcan. This is a full-time direct position with benefits. To be considered, you will need a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline. In this job, you will be part of a diverse team of engineers that is responsible for developing and executing test campaigns in support of manufacturing and qualifying flight avionics hardware. You will coordinate test system requirements with Avionics subsystem owners, integration and test engineers, and operations personnel. This hands-on position requires experience in developing and executing ATP, QTP, and Delta-Qual test procedures and executing test campaigns to produce reliable flight hardware for re-usable launch vehicles.

Avionics Test Engineer job duties include:

  • Plan, execute, and report avionics development, qualification, and acceptance testing

  • Design automated test equipment to support verification of avionics requirements

  • Use measurement and analysis to determine root causes for failures in avionics testing

  • Support analysis of acceptance testing failures conducted by off-site contract manufacturers

  • Interact with and lead Technicians, Quality Engineers, Responsible Engineers, and Lab Management personnel to generate engineering solutions to complex verification/test problems

  • Applying the lessons learned and processes developed on Engines to the test racks, as well as assessing where the company currently is with processes, procedures, test rack state, and fixing any issues accordingly

Job Qualifications:

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar discipline with a minimum of 2 years of experience with hardware development, integration, systems engineering and/or testing experience

  • Prior experience performing EMI/EMC testing is mandatory

  • Proficiency troubleshooting analog and digital hardware with bench measurement equipment and data acquisition equipment

  • Proficiency configuring and troubleshooting test networks

  • Proficiency with C++ or Python

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills regarding technical subjects

  • Due to the nature of the work, you must be U.S. Citizen

Desired Skills:

  • Highly enthusiastic, self-starter that is team oriented and has excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be comfortable working with and presenting complex technical information cross-functionally in a team environment as well as individually

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and product specifications is highly desirable

  • Willing to work extended shifts as needed to support Testing schedule.

  • Experience with MATLAB, Linux, or similar

Compensation:

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $93,600 to $135,200 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
