Job Summary

The Project Manager Assistant will support the Commercial Landscape Construction Division, focusing on assisting with landscape installations, including irrigation, lighting, and hardscape projects. This role involves aiding in project management tasks, maintaining project documentation, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring the successful completion of projects within budget and timeline. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in landscape construction and proficiency in relevant software.

Responsibilities:

Project Management Support:

  • Assist in overseeing projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.

  • Review project plans and specifications to identify potential cost impacts and opportunities for optimization.

  • Monitor project financials, including maintaining awareness of gross margins and managing contract documentation.

  • Organize and participate in pre-construction and post-construction meetings to facilitate project planning and review.

  • Engage in training programs and mentorship initiatives to support team development.

    Communication and Coordination:

  • Serve as a key point of contact between field teams and office staff, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.

  • Attend onsite and subcontractor meetings to provide updates and gather information.

  • Efficiently coordinate multiple projects, ensuring all tasks are aligned and executed according to plan.

  • Support the overall project lifecycle, from initial planning through to the warranty phase, ensuring client satisfaction and project success.

    Quality Control and Safety:

  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure project quality standards are met and to address any issues that arise.

  • Document and submit photos and reports into the Procore system for project tracking and accountability.

  • Assist with the preparation and submission of project submittals, closeouts, safety plans, and pick plans.

  • Manage and review as-built documentation, material selections, construction work hours, forecasts, and overtime approvals.

  • Contribute to maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and coordinating safety measures.

    Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and Procore; experience with Microsoft Outlook and Word. AutoCAD experience is a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze architectural plans and specifications, specifically for commercial landscape construction projects.

  • Valid Driver's License required.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information and instructions.

  • Familiarity with vertical landscape installations, including pedestal pavers, green walls, and irrigation systems.

  • Extensive knowledge and background in landscape construction, with a deep understanding of industry-specific terminology and practices.

  • Ability to read and understand landscape construction plans and documents, ensuring accurate implementation and compliance.

    Compensation

    Pay range: $75,000 - $90,000, dependent on experience.
