CMM Inspector
Job Description
The QA Inspector inspects and evaluates all product characteristics as they pertain to drawing and specification requirements. The role involves inspecting parts, machined and turned cylindrical parts for aerospace applications, including raw materials, in-process parts, first article, and final inspection documentation for shipment.
Responsibilities
Perform process and final inspection of machined aerospace parts and assemblies, including simple to moderate layouts and setups on a surface plate.
Initiate nonconformance records and disposition of parts not meeting requirements.
Complete First Article Inspections to AS9102 and company/contractual requirements.
Provide First Article buy-offs for machined, sheet metal, and assembled parts.
Monitor manufacturing operations per manufacturing control plans.
Continually strive to improve inspection effectiveness and efficiency by recommending and supporting the implementation of process improvements.
Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external personnel to identify root causes, troubleshoot and address errors and trends, and negotiate the resolution of non-conforming parts and necessary re-work or re-inspection.
Essential Skills
A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a QA inspector for machined parts and/or assemblies.
Experience in the aerospace industry is preferred.
CMM experience is required.
Ability to read and write complex instructions and quality documents in English.
Ability to read/comprehend schematics.
Must have ITAR compliant identification.
Proficient in using a multitude of manual gauges such as micrometers, tri-mics, and laser measurement systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Preferred: Aerospace quality inspection experience.
Preferred: CNC machine operation experience.
Ability to learn complex measurement systems such as CMM and vision/optical systems.

Work Environment
The position is in a manufacturing environment where you may be exposed to loud noises and machinery with moving parts. The day shift is from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The work environment can range from 55 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit and requires wearing hearing protection, eye protection, steel-toed shoes, and other appropriate protective clothing. Physical demands include lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 1-50 lbs frequently, squatting/kneeling, bending/stooping, twisting/turning, grasping, and reaching overhead and outward frequently. You will be required to sit, stand, and walk for 1-10 hours per day.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $66560.00/yr.
