Job Description Summary This position is responsible for the operation of tractor trailer combinations to facilitate the delivery of raw materials to the plant. Truck drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of their trucks and for maintaining all pertinent records. Job Description * Drives tractor-trailer combination, while applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations . * Maneuvers truck into loading and/or unloading position, following signals from loading crew as required. * Drives truck to weigh station before and after loading, and along route to document weight incompliance with state regulations. * Maintains driver log following DOT regulations. * Inspects truck before and after use and submits report indicating truck condition. * Reads bill of lading to determine assignment. * Fastens chains or binders, which includes throwing straps, to secure loads on trailer during transit. * Loads, unloads, or assists in loading and unloading truck. * Services and maintains truck with oil, fuel, and radiator fluid. * Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Reports all unsafe activities to supervisor. * Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. * Participate in safety engagement activities as required. * May be required to train other employees as needed. * May be required to be used as Yard Dog in case of emergencies. * Other duties as assigned. Basic & Preferred Qualifications Education/ Certifications: (Required & Preferred) * Valid (CDL) Class A driver's license is required. * Must meet Lamb Weston's driving standards. Skills and Experience: * 0 - 1 year related experience and/or training required. * Independently resolves a variety of routine and non-routine problems, seeking assistance on complex matters and tasks. * Thorough knowledge and experience in the operation of truck equipment, including its design, uses, emergency repair, and maintenance. * Demonstrates basic written, verbal, interpersonal, and manual or mechanical handing skills. Physical Environment/Demands: * Ability to lift up to 100 pounds with or without mechanical assistance. * Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently. * Exposed to a noisy environment frequently. * Exposed to indoor and outdoor environments which vary from hot to cold temperatures. * Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures. * Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment. * Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination To view the full job description,
