Benton PUD System Administrator II/III or System Engineer III in Kennewick, Washington

Target Hiring Range for System Administrator II: $83,130 - $98,964 Annually Target Hiring Range for System Administrator III: $91,442 - $108,860 Annually Target Hiring Range for Systems Engineer III: $110,646 - $131,721 Annually

The primary purpose of this position is to lead maintenance and support all District servers, software applications, storage, email, security tools, and IT management systems, enabling staff to operate computer systems. Level III will provide architectural design, development, and deployment of the enterprise's overall systems.

System Administrator II:

Support the District's mission to serve our customers and foster a positive workplace by personally choosing behavior aligned with our values and ethical code.

Administration of the District's virtual host server/desktop environment by performing set up, maintenance, and testing; troubleshooting; applying upgrades; and providing training and advice as needed.

Utilize the District's Storage Area Network by installing, updating and integrating with servers.

Provide capacity planning and monitoring of servers and virtual servers to allow future growth.

Administer the Office 365 application suite by providing support and maintenance.

Administer server backup systems by operating and updating hardware and software.

Maintain inventory of District servers, software and licenses by updating the tracking database and monitoring users systems for unauthorized software.

Maintain the District's web servers and related web applications including web monitoring and Microsoft IIS.

Design, administer and maintain access rights to network resources by responding to approved requests and escalating unusual requests to IT management for review.

Design and maintain Active Directory to comply with District policies and needs.

Support, maintain and administer the District's Business servers by installing, upgrading, and configuring hardware and software.

Administer and maintain District's Help Desk system by responding to the Districts trouble ticket system, phone calls, and user walk-in request.

Support the Districts VDI deployment by set up, maintenance, and testing; troubleshooting; upgrading; and provide training and advice as needed.

Ensure optimal performance of systems by monitoring of servers and network infrastructure.

Ensure effective cyber security controls by maintaining certificate (CA) and public key infrastructure (PKI).

Support the District's strategic technology plan by leading the evaluation of hardware and software and making recommendations.

Support the patching of servers/workstations/VDI/iPads by using modern technology and methods while following district policy.
