Cascade Natural Gas Gas Controller I/II in Kennewick, Washington

Description Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others. Conduct continuous monitoring of pipeline system conditions and invoke operational changes within established guidelines to operate the pipeline system on a 24-hour shift rotation basis. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Gas Controller I: ($62,130 - $77,660 per year) Two-years of accredited college or university courses, preferably in an engineering discipline, or equivalent work experience within a natural gas pipeline or distribution environment. Gas Controller, Sr.: ($71,460 - $89,330 per year) Two-years of accredited college or university courses, preferably in an engineering discipline, or equivalent work experience within a natural gas pipeline or distribution environment. Must have a minimum of four years of related work experience and must be able to demonstrate thorough understanding of Gas Control and pipeline monitoring operations. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered. Subject to pre-employment background check and drug testing. May be required to maintain a valid driver's license. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of gas supply, transportation, and operations of natural gas pipeline and storage facilities. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitors SCADA system and identifies and responds to all system abnormalities, computer alarms and deviation from established short- and long-term guidelines. Directs changes as required to maintain normal and safe operating conditions using established policies and procedures. Creates a daily short-term system forecast and provides analysis with actual usage on a "real-time" basis. Works with Gas Supply to prepare and monitor a daily operational plan and, under management guidelines, to utilize any pipeline capacity, storage assets, off-system sales and/or load allocation and supply. Maintains complete litigation quality records and documentation to meet all Company, State and Federal requirements. Maintains a contemporary knowledge of all related Company, State and Federal policies, guidelines and requirements. Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
