The Senior System Architecture Engineer is responsible for developing and evolving technical network and service architectures, as well as designing strategies to maintain, enhance, and advance T-Mobile's technology portfolio. Key responsibilities include creating, adapting, or revising detailed schematics for network and service architecture, selecting hardware and software, and defining implementation techniques and processes. The role may involve performing, evaluating, or interpreting network simulations, test results, or studies on innovative technologies. Strong technical documentation and presentation skills are critical for translating sophisticated concepts into understandable terms for diverse audiences. The engineer will also influence and contribute to industry forums. This position involves moderately complex technical assignments, requiring sound judgment in resolving issues and making recommendations. Assignments demand significant initiative and consideration of broader implications, with the expectation to propose well-informed solutions. While general guidance is provided for new tasks, minimal direction is needed for daily responsibilities. Job Responsibilities: Operational support for Redhat Linux systems physical and virtual Proactive maintenance / configuration changes Preventative health checks / Performance monitoring Break / Fix Security patching / vulnerability management Compliance monitoring / reporting Understands system protocols, how systems operate and data flows. Aware of current technology benefits and independent studies expected. Expected to lead and deliver complex network and service architecture, design strategies and standards. Deep understanding of the building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to complete design work. Ability to translate complex technical issues in terms of business impact and business benefits. Drives engineering projects by active contribution to the application of engineering techniques; conducting tests and inspections; preparing reports and calculations. Expected to supervise associate and base level engineers as needed. Develops procedures and processes to validate and enhance and optimize network architecture. Creates appropriate validation tests and inspection techniques and effectively documents results. Able to prepare executive summaries of activities and clearly communicate areas of opportunity. Contributes to designs to implement new ideas which improve an existing and new system/process/service. Understands and can apply new industry perspectives to our existing business model. Review existing architecture, design strategies, standards, and processes to highlight more efficient ways to complete existing workload more effectively through industry perspectives. Seeks opportunities to improve designs, processes, or product by reducing cost, improving efficiency, or quality. Proactively contributes during brainstorming sessions. Drives investigations, leading to new technology concepts that may tackle business problems. Technical Writing: Maintains knowledge of existing technology documents.
