Position summary T-Mobile is America's supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Sr Engineers, Systems Reliability located in Bothell, WA will proactively suggest ways of improving system stability, availability, performance, and reliability. Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Protect and ensure the stability of the operational systems as well as maintain the integrity of the data they contain. Coordinate support with offshore teams. Manage the hardware device lab setup (Mac minis) used for build and deployment of Retail iOS apps. Manage the versioning of various sales apps in the Retail iOS space. Work with MDM tools like Mobile Iron to be able to deploy apps in NPE and Production environments. Plan, coordinate, and execute changes and code deployments to the supported systems. Assist in determining the impact of operational issues and provide input into their resolution via data extraction and quantification. Coordinate and prioritize all escalated activities, including testing, project management and implementation of system upgrades, enhancements, and bug fixes. Assess critical path and assist in implementation of any project required by the business. Provide 24X7 on call support on a rotating basis with other team members. Participate in efforts in complex troubleshooting, recovery, and root cause investigation. Demonstrate fluency in emerging DevOps-centric automation tools and technologies for CICD, configuration management, etc. for prod and non-prod environments. Perform environment management for native iOS applications, managing serial numbers etc. Research tools to provide improved observability in iOS applications. Deliver software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of T-Mobile's services. Create, manage, and use dashboard for continuous monitoring and health check of applications and the underlying infrastructure, improve the quality of services using the monitoring feedback for non-production and production environments. Contribute to future improvement of software delivery processes and operations, e.g., cloud enablement, use of microservices with containerization. Develop and configure applications using docker containers on Private and Public cloud and orchestrated them into Kubernetes. Perform zero-down-time deployments on regular basis. Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance. Skill requirements: (1) Developing, deploying and maintaining multiple on prem and cloud infrastructures. Setting up automated deployment CICDCT (Continuous Integration, Continuous deployment and continuous testing) through Jenkins, GitLab using Python, ruby and shell scripting. (2) Monitoring systems for live metrics on the performance and availability of the environment on day-to-day basis, including AppDynamics for application monitoring and Splunk and Grafana for and logs tracing for application performance. (3) Migrating applications from on-prem to cloud infrastructure using Docker Containers, orchestrating to Kubernetes for multiple microservices, and performing and validating security scan installations.
