Akima Warehouse Specialist (12 Month Possibly Longer Contract) in Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington

AFO is hiring Warehouse Specialists for a 12 month (potentially longer) contract.

Performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the Military establishment's storage plan to include receive, unpack, arrange, store goods/merchandise, gather, pack, prepare and load goods for dispatching. Checks supplies for damage and wear, reports faults and discrepancies to relevant parties, and mark and label stock according to SOP’s.

Responsibilities

  • As directed, the Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.

  • Work involves most of the following:

  1. Verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents.

  2. Noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.

  3. Routing materials to prescribed storage locations.

  4. Storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.

  5. Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials.

  6. Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage.

  7. Removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.

  8. This worker may operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.

  9. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 2 years of relevant work experience in warehousing.

  • Knowledge of Army logistical functions.

  • Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.

  • Current Driver's License.

  • Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 investigation result and obtain a CAC.

  • High School Diploma / GED.

  • Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.
