A Procurement Manager is needed for one of the world's largest power management and power generation services companies in the Issaquah, WA area. The role involves leading procurement processes, developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective, quality-controlled purchasing while supervising procurement activities and collaborating with key stakeholders.

responsibilities:

  • Lead the procurement function, overseeing the purchasing process from supplier selection to purchasing optimization.

  • Develop cost-effective and innovative procurement and sourcing strategies for materials and services.

  • Source and establish business partnerships with suppliers, while scouting for backup vendors.

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.

  • Negotiate advantageous terms with vendors.

  • Perform risk assessments on potential contracts, collaborating with the legal department to ensure favorable terms.

  • Review existing contracts with suppliers to ensure ongoing feasibility.

  • Evaluate spending operations, seeking ways to improve product quality and delivery timeliness.

  • Coordinate purchase orders, obtain expenditure approvals, and confirm delivery of goods and services.

  • Oversee systems tracking shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods.

  • Prepare procurement reports to track key metrics, reduce expenses, and improve effectiveness.

  • Conduct cost analysis and set benchmarks for improvement.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure clarity of specifications and company expectations.

  • Anticipate changes in supplier-client negotiating abilities and prepare control strategies.

  • Develop risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages.

  • Assist with procurement budgeting and promote a culture of long-term savings on procurement costs.

  • Supervise and train a procurement team, delegating tasks as necessary.

  • Ensure quality control and adherence to company policies and procedures in supply chain management.

  • Manage recurring work situations with occasional variations and moderate complexity.

  • Maintain contact with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, competitors, departments, and management.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration, or equivalent work experience.

  • Proven experience managing supply chain operations.

  • Proficiency in supply chain management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and contract negotiation.
