We encourage initiative and participation by creating a casual environment that taps your full potential as an employee.Position Summary:The Manager, Financial Reporting has responsibility for supporting all parts of the financial reporting process for monthly, quarterly, and year-end external and internal financial statement closes in all subsidiaries worldwide. They assess the effectiveness of controls in the financial reporting area and influence the design of systems, processes, and controls for emerging and growing business activities. They are also responsible for collaborating with the Financial Policy & Transformation team to lead key accounting process improvement projects that involve multiple departments.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Oversees the preparation, analyses, and review of monthly, quarterly, and yearly consolidated financial results and ensures compliance with US GAAP and all external reporting requirements in the financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.Analyzes and recommends improvements to major systems, policies and procedures, and internal controls over financial reporting.Liaisons with external auditors/internal stakeholders during year-end external audits.Coordinates detailed work papers to support disclosures and detailed analyses included in monthly financial statements and annual audited statements in accordance with GAAP guidelines.Assists Cash Management in overseeing daily and monthly bank and payroll accounts reconciliations.Monitors periodic changes to FASB regulations for private companies, assesses the impact to SanMar, and makes necessary changes to policies, procedures, and controls.Contributes continuous improvement in the effectiveness and efficiency of the corporate monthly/quarterly close and reporting process. Leads key accounting process improvement projects that involve multiple departments.Requirements for Position: Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) research tools, and FASB codification (High proficiency)Expert level understanding of an internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency and ability to teach these concepts to team members.
