Swedish Medical Center Health Unit Coordinator - Emergency Department in Issaquah, Washington

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Health Unit Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Days ) to work in Emergency Services at the Swedish Issaquah Campus in Issaquah, WA .

The Health Unit Coordinator is responsible and accountable for the coordination of information and clerical support needed for the care and flow of patients in the Swedish Medical Center and Emergency Department environment.

In this position you will:

  • Manage the Medical Chart, files, on-call physicians, order entry, admission, discharge and disposition of the patient from the department.

  • Maintain and retrieve clinical information as needed to meet regulatory requirements.

  • Provide front line customer service and service recovery responsibility.

  • Manage computer systems specific to the Emergency Department.

  • Be responsible for all incoming telephone, community EMS communications, and outside medical centers requests for patient information.

  • Perform other special project assignments as directed.

  • Manage the physical environment and supplies.

  • Participate in quality improvement activities of the medical center and Emergency Department.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED.

  • 1 year related experience in a medical setting or completion of unit coordinator program.

  • Current CPR certified.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 1 year college studies.

  • Coursework/training in medical terminology.

  • Insurance and data entry systems experience.
