ABOUT THE JOB

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Project Manager, the carpenter will be responsible for:
- Designing, constructing, remodeling, retrofitting, painting, and repairing interior and exterior structures made of wood, drywall, plaster, concrete, or brick.
- Designing, constructing, retrofitting, painting, and repairing cabinets, tables, shelves, benches, partitions, flooring, door frames, and window frames.
- Cleaning, maintaining, adjusting, calibrating, and servicing equipment used for job tasks.
- Responding to routine and emergency repair calls.
- Procuring materials as needed for projects.
- Removing and reinstalling toilets, sinks, bathtubs, large appliances, hardware, and other fixtures.
- Documenting work activities daily and submitting weekly reports, while also providing daily status updates.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Ability to:
- Design, build, install, and repair structural woodwork, flooring, ceilings, and cabinetry.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate hand and power carpentry tools.
- Read and interpret plans and blueprints.
- Recognize and select appropriate types and grades of lumber.
- Create rough sketches and estimates for project cost, time, and materials.
- Perform physically demanding tasks.
- Train and supervise laborers.
- Follow and deliver both oral and written instructions.
- Maintain cooperative and professional working relationships.
- Show respect and sensitivity toward diverse populations.
In-depth knowledge of:
- Methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in both rough and finished carpentry in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Building and safety code requirements.
- Maintenance practices for tools, machinery, and equipment.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent verbal communication abilities.
