Spectra Tech, Inc. I&C Systems Engineer in Hanford Works, Washington
Location: Hanford Waste Treatment Plant (WTP) in Richland, WA; no remote work is allowed. Period of Performance: From 01-Apr-23 through 31-Sep-23 with the possibility of extension to 31-Sep-24 or 31-Dec-24. Responsibilities: Support software lifecycle and configuration management activities (maintenance) for the CONTRACTOR\'s non-safety integrated control network. The non-safety system ICN software maintenance quality level is classified as commercial quality (CM), but SUBCONTRACTOR shall follow the project\'s Quality Assurance plan and produce deliverables that comply with CONTRACTOR\'s procedures and requirements. The specific activities related to the ICN support include, but not limited to the following: - Review design documents as requested by CONTRACTOR. May include P&IDs, design specifications, instrument and control drawings, calculations, etc. - Review and update digital and analog control logic - Update software requirements, design, implementation, and test documentation in support of software configuration management, especially in support of design changes necessary to support commissioning and plant operation. - Use and update software databases - Configuration/Programming of ICN systems with specific focus on ABB 800xA system - Coordination with CONTRACTOR engineering disciplines and other functions. - Provide support and oversite of field work activities associated with scope. - Development of software application to be executed on ABB system 800xA. Technical Capability: The following technical performance requirements and capabilities are required to satisfactorily complete the Controls Systems software scope: - Knowledge and background in engineering, nuclear safety, and general working knowledge of the programs and processes of the Hanford site, to include WTP and TOC. - Prior experience in software requirements, design, implementation, and testing on distributed/industrial control systems like, ABB system 800xA is preferred. - Prior experience with software configuration management and software lifecycle documentation, especially with regard to DoD, DOE, or nuclear facilities and projects. - Develop and maintain software requirements, design, implementation, and test documentation in support of software configuration management, especially in support of design changes necessary to support Commissioning and Plant Operations. - Experience with industrial control system (PLC) software programming with specific focus on ABB 8000xA. Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical, Control and Instrumentation, Software Engineering, or equivalent discipline from an accredited college or university and 5 years of relevant experience. - Triconex experience - Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check. - Current US Citizenship with ability to get access to DOE sites required. Minimum Qualifications: - Knowledge and background in engineering and nuclear safety of nuclear facilities under ASME NQA- 1 Assurance Quality Program. - Familiar with work Experience in the design of facility control systems. - Prior experience with software configuration management and software lifecycle documentation. - Prior experience in software requirements, design, implementation, and testing on distributed/industrial control systems, ABB system 800xA and/or Schneider Tricon preferred. - Familiar with process control system software development. - Experience with instrumentation specification and selection. - Knowledge on logic diagrams, P&IDs, plant control systems, and instrumentation and control equipment layouts. - Knowledge on electrical systems, schematics, and electrical equipment layouts. - Knowledge on electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment procurement specification. - Knowledge and application of industry
