Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Metrology Lab Assistant to join our growing team.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position is located on-site in Hamilton, Washington State.

The Metrology Lab Assistant supports the timely and efficient functions of the Metrology Lab including, but not limited to, equipment certification, internal inventory management, and document management.

The following essential job functions are performed as a Metrology Lab Assistant:

  • Assist with routing of incoming and outgoing equipment and assets
  • Execute internal certification processes for various equipment
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Setup and use metrology equipment and software
  • Attention to detail and quality is required
  • Performs preventive maintenance on machines including daily inspections, weekly maintenance, and annual maintenance
  • Must be able to understand and comply with Safety Practices
  • Complies with 5S, AS9100 and Nadcap Standards and Practices
  • Identifies and obtains equipment, tools, and materials needed to properly perform job function
  • Knowledge of common hand tools and demonstrated mechanical capabilities
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.  The incumbent shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Being at work on time and maintaining good attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).  Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

QUALIFICATIONS

Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a metrology related field is preferred
  •  Ability to read and understand blue-prints and / or CAD models is helpful but not required
  • Must have general computer competency
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Wage range for this role is between $19 - $30 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki's estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
