Bureau of Reclamation Warehouse I (1st 6 months), II (2nd 6 months), III (3rd, 6 months) in Grand Coulee, Washington

Summary Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Warehouse I (1st 6 months), II (2nd 6 months), III (3rd, 6 months). Duty Location: Grand Coulee, Washington Responsibilities - Receiving, issuing, storing, distribution and shipping of bin and bulk materials and supplies. - Load and unload materials, inspects and inventories materials, and route materials, and equipment to the proper locations or storage areas. - Locate, access, load and move material for shipment and verify or prepare documents either manually or by using computer terminals. Instructions may be oral, written or require the use of drawings, diagrams, blueprints, or manuals. - Pack, crate, stencil, weigh and band equipment, supplies, or hazardous material for shipment or storage. - Operate warehouse forklifts, trucks and other general-purpose vehicles and perform routine operator maintenance. - Works in hazardous materials storage areas which require the use of specialized handling and storage procedures as required by regulatory and safety requirements. Requirements Conditions of Employment You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. You must be suitable for federal employment, determined by a background investigation. You will be required to obtain a successful pre-employment physical examination by a licensed physician certifying your ability to perform the duties of this position. You must meet at least 2 points on the screen-out element(s) and obtain an average of at least 2 points on all of the job elements in order to be considered qualified for this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Warehouse I (1st 6 months): Experience-under direct supervision, related to loading and unloading material within a warehouse or storage facility; utilizing hand trucks, forklifts, or other handling equipment to move material within storage facility; and use of commonly-used practices; issuance of materials to departments in an organization upon request utilizing automated or manual equipment. Warehouse II (2nd 6 months): Experience- periodically independent (general supervision), related to a wide range of warehousing activities including, receiving, issuing, storing, distribution and shipping of bin and bulk materials and supplies; utilizing a wide range of mechanized, automated, and manual material handling devices and systems in the accomplishment of assigned work which required broad knowledge of the methods and procedures and used in processing, handling and storing of materials and equipment through a central supply facility; and locate, access, load and move material for shipment and verify or prepare documents either manually or by using computer terminals to prepare material documentation. Warehouse III (3rd 6 months): Experience-working independently, related to work in a full range of warehousing activities including, receiving, issuing, storing, distribution, and shipping of bin and bulk materials and supplies; utilizing a wide range of mechanized, automated, and manual material handling devices and systems in the accomplishment of assigned work which required broad knowledge of the methods and procedures used in processing, handling and storing of materials and equipment through a central supply facility; prepares items for processing, utilizing computer program Capital Asset and Resource Management Application (CARMA) and bar code reader to read, store, track and prepare material; assignments may include insuring the safe receipt, storage and movement of hazardous items such as ammunition and chemicals, in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements; assisting in the development of plans for storage and arrangement of stock to determine warehouse configuration, setup, movement, rearrangement and traffic flow; and assignments usually completed without guidance on methods, procedures, or techniques, and where work was reviewed for compliance with general guidelines and results achieved. You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements by 09/26/2025 or by the cut-off date for which you wish to be considered. Education This position does not allow substituting education for experience. Additional Information The cut off dates are October 11, 2024, January 11, 2025, April 11, 2025, and July 11, 2025. For consideration by a particular cut-off date, qualification requirements must be met by the applicable date. This is a competitive, TEMPORARY PROMOTION (UPCODE) announcement for a duration of up to one (1) year, and may be extended in one (1) year increments up to 5 years, from the time of selection. This temporary promotion action may be made permanent without further competition. The agreed upon eff effective dates for any time-limited promotion/upcode, may vary depending on needs and necessary coverage. The purpose of a time-limited promotion/upcode is to temporarily perform the duties of the Warehouse I, II, III (3rd, 6 mos). The employee may be returned at any time (on or before the not-to-exceed date) to the position from which they were temporarily promoted/upcoded from or to a different position of equivalent grade, pay, and location. You may not appeal the return to the permanent lower graded or lower paying position (or the equivalent) through the administrative or negotiated grievance procedures, or to the Merit Systems Protection Board. Supervisory Approval: Supervisory approval will be required at time of selection. Applicants rated qualified for this position under this announcement will be eligible for payment for continuous or intermittent periods of work to this job classification. For BB employees, payment for this work may be made by upcoding on the employee's timesheet or using an SF-50, Notification of Personnel Action. For GS employees, payment for the work will be made by temporary promotion using an SF-50, Notification of Personnel Action.
