Responsibilities

The primary duties of this position are: Direct personnel and equipment to emergency medical, law enforcement and fire incidents. Provide precise information for emergency calls to determine appropriate response. Operate a number of electronic computer networks and operating systems. Accurately record all incoming response information for public record. Monitor physical security perimeters, surveillance and controlled accesses to facilities. Problem solve, manage conflict, and communicate effectively.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience Requirements:

In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that the applicant meets the specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume. For each Grade Advertised: To qualify at the GS-06 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 in Federal service. Specialized experience at this level is defined as experience such as work with a Federal, State, municipal, local, or private protective organization that involved the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; or maintaining order and protecting life. Such experience must have provided a knowledge of protective systems and techniques. Acceptable experience includes service in the Armed Services or Coast Guard that involved the performance of guard duties on a regular or intermittent basis. Experience also includes identifying and analyzing problems utilizing sophisticated communications, fire alert and video systems; appropriately dispatching response forces or firefighters to evolving threats to the facility; effectively communicating with all levels and types of organizations and audiences while assisting Security in maintaining order and protecting life. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Reclamation has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisory approval. In addition to the per annum salary for these positions, the selectees will be paid an additional 25% of basic salary for working Sundays, 10% of basic salary for working nights and pay for working holidays.
