Position Summary: Bilingual supervisor for all shipping and receiving activities for the given department or departments. These activities include direct supervision of departmental personnel, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, distribution of bill of lading, invoices, orders, and prioritizing activities to meet customer demands. Duties:
- Supervise employees to meet daily shipping schedules in high volume capacity traffic on multiple shifts.
- Estimate product, equipment (truck/trailers) and staffing required to meet departmental schedules.
- Manage warehouse in efficient manner as to gain the maximum storage and flexibility.
- Inspect, train and monitor employee's compliance with company's safety, quality and performance policies and procedures.
- Initiate cross-training to encompass all aspects of the warehouse and operations to improve coverage (3 deep) and personnel qualifications.
- "Hands on" approach with small crew plus temporary labor.
- Works closely with production supervisors as necessary to meet customer delivery requirements.
- (why that specific to the number of employees?) Supervise up to 12 people in the proper methods of shipping including monitoring order accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of department from picking, packing, loading and order processing.
- (why that specific to the number of employees?) Supervise up to 3 people in the proper methods of receiving including verification of receipts, accuracy of entries, timely transactions, and accuracy of inventory transactions.
- Communicate daily with Internal and External customers on status of any order related problems.
- Verify employees' production reporting accuracy, procedural compliance and time and attendance.
- Conducts safety audits in compliance with company's programs.
- Develop and implement procedures to train employees in the safe and efficient method of all activities in areas of responsibility.
- Be able to perform all duties and activities of the workers supervised.
- Traveling to other sites less than 10% of the time
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma required, Enrolled or Completed Associate/Bachelor's degree or combination of education and experience
- 3 years of Managing/Supervising Shipping/Receiving Depts or similar role
- Union Experience, Strongly preferred
