A Day and Swing Shift Fiberglass Pultrusion Powdercoat Painter in Fife, Washington is available at Milgard Windows and Doors. As a Painter, you will be responsible for the overall success of the Powdercoat paint booth including high quality physical painting of fiberglass parts, and booth and equipment maintenance. You will also interact with multiple functions within the manufacturing plant to facilitate troubleshooting and continuous improvement projects in order to supply top quality product to the customers. Powdercoat Painter job responsibilities include:
Apply paint to surfaces of the fiberglass parts using various spray patterns, angles and distance to parts.
Various mechanical adjustments to the paint gun to maximize transfer efficiency and troubleshooting paint related issues to find root cause solutions.
Accurately completes required documentation.
Always performs preventative maintenance on various paint equipment to ensure top performance of equipment. This includes paint guns, filters, ovens, etc.
Maintains inventory on paint related equipment.
Ensure safety guidelines are being met to ensure a safe work environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail.
Read and comprehend technical manuals.
Monitors and sustains 5S activities as high standards for housekeeping.
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
A minimum of 2 years of painting experience. Experience within a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Fiberglass knowledge is a plus.
High school or GED.
Associates Degree or continued education is preferred.
Have knowledge and understanding of percentages and basic mathematics skills.
Constant periods of standing and walking.
Ability to work long hours as needed to meet customers demand
Frequently required to use hands to fingers, to hand or feel/reach with hands and arms.
Frequently able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (with help).
Constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment, chemical smells, and mechanical moving parts.
Constant requirement to wear personal protective equipment including respirator.
