Waste Connections Lead CDL Driver in Fife, Washington
Murrey’s Disposal, a Waste Connections Company, is seeking a Lead CDL Driver to join our team in Fife, WA.
In addition to driving, the Lead Driver will provide personnel supervision and development, including training, scheduling, coaching, safety, and morale.
The Lead Driver will emphasize and support the safety program as a top priority and foster growth and development opportunities for operations personnel.
Schedule & Pay:
Pay starting between $35.00 to $36.50 per hour with regular wage increases.
The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with a start time between 4-6 AM, and the typical workweek is 40-50 hours, with the added benefit of being home every night!
Duties and Responsibilities:
Safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
Read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
Perform a physically demanding job, including loading and unloading, at times with no helpers.
Ensure courteous interaction with customers.
Provide supervision and training for other drivers and operational staff.
Assist with scheduling and safety compliance to maintain a high standard of performance.
Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
Requires extensive physical activity and strenuous physical work, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds.
Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts, requiring basic safety precautions.
Exposure to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration.
Noise level is usually moderate.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement.
Clean driving record.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
A key requirement for the Lead Driver role is the ability to relocate for the company as needed.
